the photographer - simon williams

I am a freelance creative photographer working over 15 years with arts and environmental organisations throughout South West England and nationally. I have worked in the arts for theatres photographing productions and youth work, for galleries photographing makers and their work plus major festivals as an events photographer.
I also work regularly for wildlife conservation and tourism organisations to promote the region, its natural landscapes and the businesses and people who live here. I exhibit regularly at galleries throughout the region and occasionally nationally with portfolios that range from plant and land patterns to the social gatherings at major rock festivals.

Recent photography work and commissions include: Re-Route for The Contemporary Craft Fellowship Scheme (mapping makers journeys who had received development bursaries); nature reserves for Natural England and the Devon Wildlife Trust; Glastonbury, Womad, Beautiful Days and Wychwood Music Festivals; tourist brochure and web photography for Dartmoor Partnership; In Tandem (furniture & ceramics) exhibition by the leading South West makers Blandine Anderson & Terry Sawle.

I am a Photographic Member of The Devon Guild of Craftsmen - the leading contemporary crafts organisation, and a Member of The Dartmoor Partnership and The Dartmoor Preservation Association.
I also work part-time in visual arts marketing and undertake voluntary conservation work when time allows. I am interested in unusual projects linked to environmental or cultural issues and would be happy to discuss collaborations with other photographers, environmentalists or makers.
